Yep, I came across this recently - it...</title><content type='html'>@Anonymous,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yep, I came across this recently - it&amp;#39;s the &lt;a href="http://www.aptimize.com/" rel="nofollow"&gt;Aptimize&lt;/a&gt; product. I haven&amp;#39;t seen it in action, but I&amp;#39;m definitely impressed and Microsoft used it for &lt;a href="http://sharepoint.microsoft.com" rel="nofollow"&gt;http://sharepoint.microsoft.com&lt;/a&gt;. As far as I can see it automates some of the (non-SharePoint specific) tasks in my checklist. So it might come down to a financial decision on whether it&amp;#39;s more cost-effective to do it manually or automate. For example, core.js is 265k.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&amp;#39;ve profiled a bunch of Sharepoint sites and the frontend performance is pretty bad!  It&amp;#39;s not uncommon to find a site that&amp;#39;s serving 11 separate JS files and near the same amount of CSS.
